Machine Operator, Holweg Bag Machine – Piney Flats, Tennessee


We are seeking a detailed oriented, safety minded and highly motivated individual to fill the role of Holweg Bag Machine Operator in the Piney Flats location.  Job responsibilities include but are not limited to; following procedures to safely meet customer expectations, complete required paperwork accurately, monitoring results and ensuring the quality of material and final products before leaving the work area. 
 

  • Tend machine that automatically prints cuts, folds and glues or seals plain paper to form bags.
  • Interpret job orders and insures conformity to specifications.
  • Responsible for entering production data into Radius operating system.
  • Make machine adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and production.
  • Catch/stack and load paper as needed to ensure running of machine.
  • Inspects bags as they come off the machine.
  • Maintain satisfactory housekeeping including clean-up of machine area and surrounding workstation.
  • Support SQF Certification.
  • General clean-up of machine area and surrounding workstation.
  • Focus on safety at all times.
  • Ability to operate and understand processes in a computer controlled environment.
  • Must have a safety focused attitude and be willing to work in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instruction.
  • Weekend work will be required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Required Skills:

These skills must be specified on the candidates resume in order to be considered for this position:

  • Utilize basic math skills in calculation.
  • Ability to read tape measure.
  • Mechanically inclined for general machine adjustments.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instruction

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • High school diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for 12 hours per day.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
  • Must have the ability to be punctual and maintain regular attendance
