Plate Technician – Bristol, Tennessee 7AM- 3PM
We are seeking a detailed oriented, safety minded and highly motivated individual to fill the role of Plate Technician in the Bristol location. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to; following procedures to safely meet customer expectations, complete required paperwork accurately, monitoring results and ensuring high quality of finished products before leaving the work area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform related duties as assigned by leadership.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- When print jobs are completed, the sleeves will be taken to a staging area for the plate washing machine. The Plate Technician will take one job at a time, demount the plates and run them through the plate washer.
- Inspect and inventory each plate on a Plate Inventory Sheet for each separate job.
- Indicate how much footage each plate has on it and how many times it has been in the press.
- Remove sticky-back from sleeves from the job being demounted.
- Inspect and clean any sleeves that need to be cleaned. Note any damaged / concerning sleeves on Damaged Sleeve Log.
- Communicate with mounters to get sleeves back for the next job or put sleeves away in storage.
- Stage or return plates to the plate storage area.
- Help keep sleeve storage areas clean and organized.
- Learn how to operate the TIR machine to check condition of sleeves if needed.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in reading written English.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and maintain an appropriate pace to stay caught up with operations.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Highly organized and takes clear notes and executes thorough documentation
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
- Must have the ability to be punctual and maintain regular attendance.
- Can bend, twist, reach multiple times throughout the day without issue.
